Birlehlu, May 16, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front Mohamed Abdelaziz has underlined that the large number of Sahrawi victims on Thursday in the occupied city of El Aaiun reveals the extent of the barbarity of interventions of the Moroccan forces against the defenseless Saharawi civilians.

The President of the Republic highlighted in a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Friday that  the city of El Aaiun, capital of occupied Western Sahara, witnessed on Thursday the organization of  a Sahrawi peaceful demonstration to demand the creation of UN mechanism to protect and  monitor human rights, release  Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons and enable the Saharawi people of their right to self-determination and independence, through a free, fair and impartial referendum.

The Moroccan authorities of occupation mobilized large numbers of its troops to attack the defenseless Sahrawis without mercy or compassion, beating them up with sticks, batons and stones and dragging and arresting them in the streets, added the President of the Republic in his letter. (SPS)
