RFKennedy Center sponsors course on human rights in Western Sahara in Spanish University

Washington, June 13, 2014 (SPS) - President Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights has launched a series of courses on Western Sahara in partnership with the School of Law of the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

 

These courses on human rights in Western Sahara occupied by Morocco were given by Professor Carlos Ruiz Miguel, one of the leading advocates of human rights of the Saharawi people and other experts some of them are members of RFKennedy Center.

 

Kennedy expressed her satisfaction to have partnered in this initiative with one of the most prestigious Spanish universities to ''make known one of the most urgent situations of violation of human rights in the world today.''

 

For the president of the Washington-based NGO,'' these innovative courses are a crucial step in order to help the public to understand this complex conflict that has lasted for decades in Western Sahara.'' (SPS)
