Smara (refugee camps), June 21, 2014 (SPS) - A delegation of the Colombian Senate arrived yesterday, Friday, in the Saharawi refugee camps as part of a visit of solidarity with the Saharawi people.
The delegation visited today, Saturday, the Wilaya of Smara, fir leg of their visit to the Saharawi refugee camps, where they received by Governor Mr. Adda Hmeim, as well as officials and cadres of Smara.
In a ceremony held in Smara to welcome the delegation, Mr. Jorge Enrique Robledo, spokesman of the Colombian Left Alliance Party, expressed "absolute solidarity and support" to the just struggle of the Saharawi people to freedom and independence.
The Colombian Senator expressed happiness to be with Saharawi families, stressing that the visit comes not only in a political context, but also to assess the humanitarian situation in the camps.
The delegation composed of Jorge Enrique Robledo (Left Alliance Party), Mr. Juan Manuel Galán (Liberal Party) and Juan Mario Laserna (Conservative Party). (SPS)
