La Paz (Bolivia), Sept 4, 2014 (SPS) - Sao Paulo Forum has called upon Latin American states to recognize the Saharawi Republic (SADR), voicing solidarity with the struggle waged by the Saharawi people, under leadership of the Polisario Front and SADR.
Taking place in La Paz, capital of Bolivia, on 25-29 August 2014, the Forum expressed solidarity with the struggle of the Saharawi people for total sovereignty over Western Sahara, occupied by Morocco since 1975.
In a declaration issued at the end of the 20th edition of Sao Paulo Forum, the participants urged Latin American and Caribbean governments to strengthen diplomatic relations and open embassies for the Saharawi Republic.
The event brought together more than 60 political parties and social movements throughout the world. (SPS)
