Lisbon,October 26, 2014 (SPS) - A delegation led by the General Secretary of the National Union of Saharawi Women, Fatma Mehdi, companied by the Polisario Front representative in Lisbon, Ahmed Fal M'hamed, will participate Sunday in the 9th Congress of the Women's Democratic Movement in Portugal (MDM).
The delegation which started Friday a working visit to Portugal, at the invitation of the MDM, will have several meetings with Portuguese organizations about the latest developments on the question of Western Sahara.
The delegation had visited the province of Palmela where it was received by some officials in the Portuguese province.
FatmaMehdi held a conference on the question of Western Sahara and its developments, the role of women in Sahrawi society and the various aspects of social and cultural life of the Saharawi people during 40 years of struggle for independence.
The vice presidentof the province of Palmela stressed the need of solidarity with the Saharawi cause and support to the Saharawi people to realize all its legitimate rights of freedom and independence. (SPS)
