Oslo (Norway), December 9, 2014 (SPS) - The Executive Committee of the Liberal party in Norway adopted Sunday a motion calling foreign companies to stop all exploration activities and oil drilling off the shore of Western Sahara, stressing that investors through these activities, encourage and legitimize the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara.
The motion also called on foreign companies to withdraw from Western Sahara, specifying that it is a flagrant violation of international law, and therefore "any business or investment of any size or nature is a contribution of these companies to the Moroccan occupation, rejected by the Saharawi people ".
The Executive Committee of the Liberal Party calls on the Government of Norway to review its investments in companies involved in oil exploration in Western Sahara, demanding the United Nations to submit a report on the violations that occur in this area. (SPS)
