Algiers, January 6, 2015 (SPS) - Swedish Parliament deputy Johan Buser affirmed Monday, in Algiers, his country’s support to the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.

During a meeting with a delegation of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), Buser revealed the existence of a Swedish parliamentary network that defends the Sahrawi people’s rights, announcing the upcoming visit of Swedish parliamentarians in Sahrawi refugee camps.

At the end of his visit, a report of the humanitarian situation in the occupied Sahrawi territories will be developed.

Ahmed Said Benatallah, member of a Swedish town council and adherent to the “Western Sahara project for the socialist youth,” underlined the necessity to “deepen the dialogue for the recognition of the Sahrawi people’s rights.”

The president of Algerian-Sahrawi fraternal and friendship parliamentary group, Saida Bounab, called for the Swedish MPs to adhere to the international parliamentary solidarity network with the Sahrawi people. (SPS)
