19th International Seminar calls for expansion of MINURSO mandate

 Mexico City, March 16, 2015 (SPS) More than 138 organizations and representatives of political parties of the left and progressive worldwide have unanimously adopted a resolution calling for the expansion of the mandate of MINURSO for the Protection of Human Rights in Western Sahara, during the closure of the 19th International Seminar organised by the Mexican labor party, held from 12 to 14 March 2015 in Mexico.

 

The participants in the seminar, held under the title "The parties and a new society", urged their governments to put pressure on the Moroccan government to respect the human rights and recognize the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and establish diplomatic relations with it.

 

The SADR was represented at the seminar by diplomat Ahmed Mulay Ali, who informed the participants of the current situation in Western Sahara, in particular, violations of human rights committed by the Moroccan occupier against Sahrawi civilians in the occupied territories. (SPS)
