President of Republic commends leading role of Saharawi woman

Smara (refugee camps), April 3, 2015 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente Polisario Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz on Friday praised the leading role of Saharawi woman at present and during the armed battle for independence, during a speech at the opening ceremony of the 7th congress of Saharawi Women Union.


President Mohamed Abdelaziz hailed the outstanding role played by Saharawi woman over the past 40 years in the liberation struggle for independence, adding she has left a distinct mark in the process of building the Saharawi state, by contributing remarkably in vital sectors such as administration, education and health, among others.


He, on other hand, hailed the “instrumental and continuous” contribution of the Saharawi masses in the occupied territories and in southern Morocco in the struggle for independence of Western Sahara.


Work of the 7th congress of the National Union of Saharawi Woman (UNMS) opened Friday morning in Smara province, Saharawi refugee camps, under the theme: “Gdeim Izik will last forever”. (SPS)
