Dajla (refugee camps), April 30, 2015 (SPS) - South African Ambassador in the Saharawi Republic (SADR), Mr. Dennis T. Dlomo, called Thursday from the Saharawi refugee camps for an international day of solidarity with the struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and emancipation.
Speaking in a political seminar organized as part of the activities of the Western Sahara International Film Festival, South African ambassador said the Saharawi people have all the right to exercise self-determination, urging the international community to give them the chance to determine their own future.
Mr. Dlomo also denounced the double standard policy pursued by the United Nations in dealing with the question of Western Sahara, calling her to dispatch an independent mission to assess the situation in the occupied Saharawi territories.
He, therefore, deplored the gross violations of human rights committed by Morocco against defenseless Saharawi people in the occupied Western Sahara, especially against the Saharawi political prisoners incarcerated in Moroccan jails.
He, at the end of his speech, called on the Saharawis to continue adhering to their legitimate cause until the realization of freedom and self-determination.
An important South African delegation participates in the 12th edition of the International Film Festival in Western Sahara (FiSahara), held from April 30th to May 3rd in the province of Dajla, Saharawi refugee camps, under the motto: “Universal Justice”, it should be recalled. (SPS)
