Dajla (refugee camps), May 1, 2015 (SPS) - Participants at the International Film Festival in Western Sahara (FiSahara) on Friday morning listened to compelling testimonies by some families and relatives of the mass graves, discovered in 2013 in Mheiriz in Western Sahara.
During a round table on Universal Justice organized in the margin of FiSahara 2015, Mahmud Salama, son and brother of a victim of mass graves, said Moroccan regime does not understand the meaning of justice, hoping that the Saharawi people will achieve freedom and self-determination.
He also appreciated the ruling by Spanish judge Paplo Ruz against Moroccan military officers, who are accused of committing genocide s in Western Sahara, occurred during the Moroccan military invasion of the territory.
Fatma Baidalla, daughter of one of the victims, called for prompt action to disclose the fate of missing Saharawis, wishing that justice will take its course.
In statements to SPS after this discussion, the President of the Saharawi National Commission for Human Rights Mr. Said Filali indicated that the barbaric and unethical practices being carried out by Morocco in Western Sahara “must be considered as crimes against humanity.”
“The Saharawi people have every right to live in dignity, safety and stability,” he added. (SPS)
