Parliament hears government responses on reconstruction, water and prices

National Council (refugee camps), May 14, 2015 (SPS) - The National Council (parliament) on Thursday heard government responses to the concerns expressed by parliamentarians in the fields of reconstruction of the liberated zones, rising prices and water shortage.


To inquire about these concerns, the parliament invited the ministers of interior, water and environment, reconstruction and urbanization of liberated territories as well as trade, respectively Mr. Hamma Salama, Mr. Hamdi Mayara, Mr. Bulahi Sayad and Mr. Abeida Cheij.


The Minister of Water and Environment, Mr. Hamdi Mayara, said his ministry has already taken a number of measures to prevent water crisis, calling, in the same context, for concerted efforts by all partners, of which governors and citizens, to best rationalizing water consumption, especially with the approach of summer season.


For his part, the Minister of Trade, Mr.Abeida Cheij, indicated her ministry has fixed the prices of raw materials, adding that applying such measures is the responsibility of the executive organs that work to ensure market stability.


The Minister of Urbanization of Liberated Territories, Mr.Bulahi Sayad, said his ministry seeks to continue cooperation with stakeholders to improve the services for citizens in the Saharawi liberated territories in terms of fuel distribution and water supply.


The Minister of Interior, Mr. Hamma Salama, expressed full readiness for cooperation in order to overcome all odds and to address the points of weakness and imbalance, with the aim to develop services for citizens. (SPS)
