El Aaiun (Saharawi refugee camps), August 28 2015 (SPS) – President of Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, attended Thursday evening the funeral service of Ahmed Kaid Saleh, in the cemetery of the Wilaya of El Aaiun, Sahrawi refugee camps.
The deceased was a counselor to the Presidency, a founding member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia Hamra and Rio de Oro (POLISARIO), and had been a member of the political bureau of the Polisario Front.
He was a founding member of the Movement for the liberation of Western Sahara, and took part in the historic uprising of Zemla on June 17, 1970, where he was among those arrested by the Spanish colonial authorities. (SPS)
