Brussels, September 21, 2015 (SPS) The Department of External Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on European governments to support the inalienable right of the people of Western Sahara to self-determination and independence.
At a meeting in Brussels under the chairmanship of Mohamed Sidati, Minister for Europe, the department has called on European governments to put pressure on Morocco to accelerate the implementation of UN resolutions calling for the decolonization of the last colony in Africa, the Western Sahara.
The meeting focused on the evaluation of the Saharawi diplomacy in Europe, the next steps for identification and preparation to participate in the work of the fourth UN committee on decolonization and the European Coordination Conference of Support to the Saharawi people (EUCOCO).
The Sahrawi diplomats stressed the importance of intensifying diplomatic action towards the European institutions and companies to promote support to the Saharawi cause in Europe. (SPS)
