Shahid El Hafed, Nov 7, 2015 (SPS) - The government of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) considered Saturday "dangerous escalation" the visit of the King of Morocco, Mohamed VI, to the occupied territories of Western Sahara, a territory subjet to unfinished decolonization process under the responsibility of the UN pending its decolonization through a self-determination referendum for the Saharawi people.

The Polisario Front and the SADR government, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Information, denounced the remarks of Moroccan King’s speech Mohamed VI in occupied El Aaiun, expressing rejection of the language of "threats, intimidation and intransigence "contained in the speech.

In response to this Moroccan maneuver, the Polisario Front reiterated its condemnation of the visit of the King of Morocco to the occupied territories of Western Sahara, considering this visit as "dangerous escalation" and all that has preceded and accompanied as state of siege, repression, threats, arrests, physical and psychological provocations, and harassment against defenseless Saharawi civilians.

Recalling the legal status of Western Sahara, which remains among the non-autonomous territories and colonial peoples, awaiting the exercise of the right to self-determination and independence, the Saharawi government urged the UN to take responsibility and exert pressure against the Kingdom of Morocco in order to complete the decolonization of Western Sahara and allow the Saharawi people to express themselves freely on their future.

The Saharawi government, also called for the implementation of the requirements of international law and international humanitarian law, to stop the illegal plundering by Morocco of natural resources of Western Sahara, providing protection for the Saharawis from Moroccan oppression by expanding the prerogatives of MINURSO to the protection and monitoring of the situation of human rights and accelerating the release of Saharawi political prisoners, at their top the Gdeim Izik group.

The Polisario Front and the Saharawi government also warned against these threats and their impact on stability in the region, due to the policy of expansion, aggression and drug trafficking led by the Moroccan occupation policies in the region.

The Saharawi government, at the same time, reiterated the commitment of the Saharawi party to cooperate positively with the Secretary General of the UN and support for the efforts of his Personal Envoy, Christopher Ross, to complete the decolonization of the last colony in Africa.

"The Saharawi government reiterated the determination of the Saharawi people, now more than ever, to continue its resistance under the leadership of its sole and legitimate representative, the Polisario Front for the recovery of legitimate rights to freedom and independence "concluded the statement of the Saharawi Ministry of Information.
