All UN decisions on Western Sahara must be implemented (Algerian parliamentary)

 9 June School (Refugee Camps), November 29, 2015 (SPS) The Vice President of the Algerian People's National Congress (PNC), Ghania Idali, stressed Saturday in the Sahrawi refugee camps the need to implement all United Nations decisions on Western Sahara, considering that the continuation of the conflict, puts in question the ability of the UN organization to apply international law and the preservation of peace and security in the world".

 

 Ms. Idali who chairs the Algerian delegation participating in the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Sahrawi National Council (Parliament), held the UN responsible for the suffering of the Saharawi people and occupation of its territories. "

 

Recalling that all international resolutions and decisions are in favor of the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and independence, the Algerian parliamentary stressed that "the United Nations organization is called to apply international law and put an end to the occupation of the Sahrawi territories, the last colony in Africa".

 

 She said on the occasion that "Algeria will spare no effort at all levels in favor of the Saharawi people to achieve its ultimate goal which is independence."

 

 For his part, the Chair of the group of friendship and brotherhood with the Saharawi people, Saida Bounab, stressed "the need to accelerate the process of organizing a referendum" to enable the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination.

 

 She also emphasized the need to stop violations committed by the Moroccan occupation and the plundering of natural resources of Western Sahara ".

 

 Ms. Bounab expressed hope that the next report of the Envoy of the United Nations for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross, will be "decisive" to the Saharawi question, stressing the need to "continue the support at the international level in favour of the Sahrawi cause".

 

Algeria was represented at the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Saharawi Parliament by a parliamentary delegation composed of five members including Ghania Idali and Bounab Saida. (SPS)
