Tenerife(Canary Island), December 30, 2015 (SPS) – the Polisario Front representative in Spain Mr. Bachraya Hamudi Bayun affirmed today that “Spain has a historic debt towards the Saharawi people and a great responsibility in the current situation in Western Sahara ", in a statement to the media after his meeting with Prime Minister of Canary government Mr. Fernando Clavijo.
the Sahrawi Diplomatic added that Spain has a great role in finding a solution to the dispute through exerting further pressure on the Kingdom of Morocco to comply with the resolutions of international legitimacy and to accept the self-determination of the Saharawi people, expressing his hope that the upcoming central Spanish government will take a more positive position towards the Sahrawi issue.
He underlined that the fisheries agreement between the EU and Morocco, which include the Sahrawiterritorial waters is a flagrant violation of international law, because the Sahrawis do not gain any benefit from it, and doesn’t take into account the approval of the Sahrawi side. (SPS)
