ANC reiterates support for struggle of Saharawi people for freedom and independence

 Rustenburg (South Africa), January 10, 2016 (SPS)- The President of South Africa and the African National Congress (ANC), Jacob Zuma, reiterated the support and solidarity of his party with the struggle of the people of Western Sahara for freedom and independence.

 

In a speech to mark the 104th anniversary of the ANC, Mr. Zuma called for the decolonization of the last colony in Africa, Western Sahara, reaffirming the support of his country and party to the legitimate struggle of the Polisario Front, sole representative of the Saharawi people, for freedom and independence.

 

 The president of the ANC also recalled the commitment of his party in defending the right of the Sahrawi people in all international forums and bodies.  

 

Regarding the illegal plundering of the natural resources of Western Sahara by the Moroccan occupier, he called for a boycott of all the companies complicit with Morocco in the illegal exploitation of Saharawi natural resources. (SPS)
