Santiago (Chile), October 07, 2024 (SPS) - A Sahrawi delegation participated in the work of Progressive Alliance Global Convention, which took place in the Chilean capital, Santiago, on 5–6 October 2024.
The Convention discussed in the presence of the leaders of political movement from around the world, the most consequential issues of the time: protecting democracy, fostering economic and social progress, solving climate change, securing peace, and promoting gender equality.
It also aimed at directing the international programme of the Progressive Alliance that requires coordinated, coherent, and future-proof global solutions to persistent problems.
The Global Convention carried out critical tasks of advancing programmatic responses, renewing solidarities, strengthening the Progressive Alliance’s institutional capacity, and electing its new leadership.
The convention was an opportunity for the Sahrawi representative Mr. Hafdalla Chaddad, to meet and communicate with the leadership of the parties and their cadres, and to inform them of the developments in the Sahrawi issue and the prospects for cooperation between the Polisario Front and political parties from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Ecuador, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, Spain, India, Portugal, Yemen and Palestine.
