Ait Melloul (Morocco) February 15, 2024 (SPS) - Sahrawi civilian prisoners within the Gdeim Izik group, who are in the prison of Ait Melloul 2, city of Agadir, began today a 48-hour hunger strike.

According to what was reported by the Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners, the Sahrawi civilian prisoners Mohamed Ahnini El-Rouh Bani, Brahim Daddi Ismaili, and Sid Ahmed Fraji Lamjeid went on hunger strike due to the numerous humiliating and aggressive treatment they were subjected by Moroccan authorities in the prison of Ait Melloul 2.

Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan occupation prisons suffer from various types of torture, intimidation, and deprivation of the most basic rights guaranteed by international laws and norms for all prisoners.

SPS
