National Council, November 30, 2023 (SPS) – The work of the first autumn session of the twelfth parliamentary term began yesterday at the headquarters of the National Council, in a public session chaired by the member of the National Secretariat and President of the National Council, Mr. Hamma Salama, and in the presence of members of the legislative and executive bodies.

The opening session witnessed the approval of the session’s agenda, which included presenting the reports of the relevant committees on the annual evaluation of the government program for the year 2023, followed by a general discussion and presentation of the draft government program for the year 2024.

The President of the National Council, Mr. Hamma Salama confirmed during his speech that the autumn session of the National Council comes within the framework of joint work with the executive body to evaluate the government’s program for the year 2023, after the work carried out by the committees and offices of the National Council during the preparation period for this session.

He added that between the spring and autumn sessions, there were many programs, activities and training courses from which the members of the National Council benefited to enrich the Sahrawi parliamentary experience and open horizons towards improving parliamentary performance.

Mr. Hamma Salama also praised Algeria's firm, principled positions in supporting the just Sahrawi cause and constructive cooperation in supporting and exchanging experiences with Sahrawi state institutions in various fields and standing by the Sahrawi people until they achieve their independence.

It should be noted that the committees and offices of the National Council concluded, a few days ago, inspection tours that they led to various government sectors to evaluate the work of the government program and prepare detailed reports to be presented and discussed during the work of this session.
