Frente POLISARIO Representative in Canary Islands reaffirms Saharawi authorities determination to defend Saharawi people natural resources

Tenerife, July 19, 2018 (SPS) - The Representative of the Frente POLISARIO in the Canary Islands, Mr. Hamdi Mansur, reaffirmed on Wednesday in a press conference at the headquarters of the Workers' Commissions in Tenerife, the determination of the Saharawi authorities to defend the natural resources of the Saharawi people.
The Saharawi diplomat referred to the current situation of the struggle of the Saharawi people and their development at international level, as well as to the last visit to the region by the special envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Western Sahara, the former German president , Mr. Horst Kholer to resume direct negotiations between the Frente POLISARIO and Morocco.
The Saharawi leader also spoke at his press conference to the legal battle being carried out by the Frente POLISARIO in Europe in defense of the natural resources of the Saharawi people.
the Frente POLISARIO diplomat launched an appeal to all European companies and institutions to respect the verdict of the Court of Justice of the European Union that reaffirmed that Morocco has no sovereignty over the territory of Western Sahara.
For his part, the President of the Canary Association of Solidarity with the Saharawi People, Alberto Negrin in his speech addressed the importance of the reception of Saharawi children in the "Peace Vacations Program" and the challenges facing the association for the guarantee of the continuity of this program.
During the press conference, an appeal was made to all the Workers' Commissions of the Canary Islands to participate in the demonstration of solidarity and support for the Sahrawi cause along with the Sahrawi children on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Wiler Square at 10.30 am in the morning.SPS
The representatives of workers' commissions present at the press conference reaffirmed the firm support position of their organization to the struggle of the Sahrawi people and urged the Spanish government to make the same decision as Portugal regarding the decolonization of East Timor. They also expressed that they will be present together with the Sahrawi children in the next demonstration in support and solidarity with the just cause of the Saharawi people SPS
