Bir Lehlu (Sahrawi Republic), Dec 24, 2020 (SPS) - The Sahrawi National Commission for Human Rights (CONASADH) condemned the repression suffered by Sahrawi protesters in the occupied city of El Aaiún, capital of Western Sahara.
In a published statement, Aa copy of which obtained by  SPS, Conasadh expressed “its condemnation over repression suffered by several Sahrawi activists and its strong rejection of the violence suffered by the family of activist Sultana Jaya, under the watchful eye of the Mission of the United Nations for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), which is playing the role of mere spectator and accomplice of the violations by the Moroccan occupation authorities ”.
In this regard, the Sahrawi Human Rights Commission expressed its solidarity with the family of the Sahrawi activist and all the victims of the repression and warned of the serious consequences of the aggressive policies and practices of the Moroccan occupation authorities, carried out by their security forces and its judicial system, at a time when the world is engrossed in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We demand, added Conasadh, the taking of urgent measures to guarantee the safety and protection of defenseless Sahrawi civilians and the rapid deployment of an independent mission to investigate the crimes committed by the Moroccan security forces. SPS
