Castilla y León (Spain), October 05, 2022 (SPS)- The political forces in the province of Castilla y León renewed their positions in support of the Sahrawi people's struggle for freedom and self-determination, during talks between the representative of the Polisario Front in Castilla y León Mr. Mohamed Labat and members of the Parliamentary blocs representing the Socialist Party, Por Ávila Party, Union of the People of León Party and Soria YA Party.
The representative of the Polisario Front briefed his hosts on the latest developments of the Sahrawi cause, in light of the ongoing war between the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army and the Moroccan occupation forces, as well as the Sahrawi government’s concern about human rights violations practiced by the Moroccan occupation forces against Sahrawi activists in the occupied cities of Western Sahara and southern Morocco, in addition to the difficult humanitarian situation in the refugee camps resulting from the lack of food and medicine.
The talks also dealt with other issues, including activating the role of the parliamentary group “Peace and Freedom for the Sahrawi People” and how the Sahrawi Parliament can benefit from the parliamentary experience in Castilla y León through the exchange of visits, experiences and expertise and unifying positions on many issues of common concern such as human rights and issues of freedom for peoples who suffer under the yoke of colonialism.
