Shaheed Al-Hafed (Refugee Camps), Feb 27, 2017 (SPS) - The chairperson of the African Union Commission Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma addressed a message of congratulations to the Sahrawi president Brahim Ghali on the occasion of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), affirming her determination “to strength peace in the region.”
Dlamini-Zuma expressed “her sincere and warm congratulations” to the Sahrawi government and people, adding her wishes for “peace, prosperity and progress.”

Algiers, Feb 26, 2017 (SPS) - President of the Sahrawi Petroleum and Mining Authority, Ghali Zbeir, revealed Saturday in Algiers the extent of Morocco plundering of the Sahrawi resources, notably phosphate and fishery products.
He warned against the continuing complicity of certain foreign companies despite the binding ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

Representative of the Polisario Front Ahmed Boukhari held talks Friday at the UN headquarters with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, to whom he handed a message from Sahrawi President Brahim Ghali on the dangerous deadlock in the UN process since many years, Sahrawi representation in New York told APS Friday.

US congressmen on visit to Sahrawi refugee camps Sunday

Washington, Feb 25, 2017 (SPS) - About ten US senators and members of the US House of Representatives will pay a visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps on Sunday, Polisario Front's representation and Algerian diplomats in Washington told APS.
The US Congress delegation will meet with Sahrawi officials and see by themselves the situation in which Sahrawi refugees have been living for 40 years, in exile with no prospect of ever returning to their homeland, which is occupied by Morocco.

Adala UK denounces use of torture by Morocco against Sahrawis

London, Feb 25, 2017 (SPS) - The British organization for human rights defence in Western Sahara, Adala UK, denounced Friday the use of torture by Morocco against Sahrawi civilians who oppose Moroccan colonization of their country, and called for investigations into those complaints.
Adala UK wrote on its website that Morocco continues to use "torture" and its "constant" human rights violations in Western Sahara make the situation in which Sahrawi are living "critical."
