Smara (Refugee Camps), 27 February 2023 (SPS) - The wilaya of Smara, Sahrawi refugee camps, hosted Monday the celebrations commemorating the 47th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
The celebrations were attended by President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, members of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and the SADR government, in addition to foreign delegations from Algeria, South Africa, and other countries, in addition to a large gathering of residents of the wilaya.
The establishment of the Sahrawi Republic on February 27, 1976 constituted a “legitimate response and a strong blow” in the face of an “international conspiracy” made against the Sahrawi people.
The proclamation of the Sahrawi Republic was also the culmination of the achievements and gains that the Polisario Front, the sole legitimate representative of the Sahrawi people, struggled to accomplish for independence and sovereignty.
