Addis Ababa, 19 February 2023 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) will not allow the Moroccan occupier to exploit any continental forum to pass its lies and maneuvers regarding the Sahrawi issue, affirmed Sunday the President of the National Council, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Hamma Salama, who stressed that the attempt of Makhzen to use the institutions of the African Union (AU) to achieve its political aims will not succeed.
Morocco is trying to convince the AU of the conclusions of the so-called "Tangier Forum for Peace and Development in Africa" which "is in reality only a propaganda and political event that the Kingdom of Morocco uses to serve its agendas to legitimize its occupation of parts of the territory of the Sahrawi Republic, said Hamma Salama who represents the President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, at the 36th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the AU held in Addis Ababa.
The AU must be aware of Morocco's attempts to involve it financially and politically in the so-called "Tangier Forum on Peace and Development in Africa", he added.
The AU has an "institutional and structural component that must ensure the study and monitoring of any activity, sanctioned by decisions or political statements," said the President of the Sahrawi National Council on the second day of work of the 36th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the AU.
