Brahim Ghali: "Tanzania was leading the African liberation struggle, under the leadership of the respected leader, Julius Nyerere"

Dodoma (Tanzania) 07 December 2022 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, the Secretary-General of the Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, affirmed today in a speech to the participants of the 10th Congress of the Tanzanian Revolutionary Party that "Tanzania, under the leadership of the respected African leader, Teacher Julius Nyerere, was leading the African liberation struggle, and the capital, Dar es Salaam, was chosen as the headquarters of the African Liberation Committee, which is affiliated with the Organization of African Unity.
The President of the Republic Mr. Brahim Ghali, added, "We are talking about an outstanding African personality, whose name was inscribed in letters of gold. African generations will keep him immortal in their collective memory, along with the founding fathers and historical symbols of our dear continent."
He also recalled the glorious history of Tanzania, explaining that Tanzania and its great people, led by the Tanzanian Revolution Party “Chama Cha Mapinduzi”, suffered from an unjust economic blockade because of their support for the movements of liberation in Africa and the world”, adding that “this did not prevent them from adhering to the defense of lofty human principles that affirm the rights of peoples to self-determination, democracy and equality, as well recognizes that world peace can only be achieved if it is based on mutual respect and fruitful cooperation between peoples and nations, the application of international legitimacy, and the rejection of all forms of injustice and aggression”.

The President addressed, on behalf of the people and government of the Sahrawi Republic and on behalf of the Polisario Front, to Her Excellency the President of the Federal Republic of Tanzania Mrs. Samia Soloho and to the leadership of the Tanzanian Revolution Party, its executives and affiliates, and through them to all the Tanzanian people, with all thanks, gratitude and appreciation for Tanzania's principled and respectful position, defending the inalienable right of our people to exercise Self-determination and complete sovereignty over his entire independent homeland, thus ending the last manifestations of colonialism in Africa.
He concluded saying “It is a firm principled position adopted by Tanzania early, firmly and continuously, since the outbreak of the Saharawi national liberation struggle against Spanish colonialism, and then against the aggression of its neighbors after that, and their occupation of parts of the territory of the Sahrawi Republic, a founding member of the African Union.”
