46th EUCOCO to be held tomorrow in the capital Berlin

Shahid Al-Hafed, December 01, 2022 (SPS) - The German capital, Berlin, will host, tomorrow, Friday, the works of the European Conference for Support and Solidarity with the Saharawi People “EUCOCO” in its 46th edition, which runs on Friday and Saturday.
The conference, which will be held under the slogan "For and independent Western Sahara", brings together delegations from all over the world, even though still most of the participants come from European countries.
The Conference is attended, annually, by representatives of governments that recognize SADR, elected officials from European and national institutions, political and trade union organizations, friendship associations with Sahrawi People, NGOs, legal and culture personalities.
The 46th edition of EUCOCO is marked by the presence of the icon of the struggle for self-determination and independence of Timor-Leste, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, as the guest of honor.
The Sahrawi ambassador in charge of Europe and EU Mr. Oubbi Bushraya Al-Bashir told “SPS” that European Conference will focus on four main themes: Policy and Information, Human Rights, Natural Resources, Consolidation of the Saharawi State.
He also added that “the conference will witness an Interparlamenterian Conference of Bundestag in the presence of parliamentarians from Germany, Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America”.
The Saharawi people also take part in this important conference. They are represented by high delegation chaired by the Prime Minister, member of the National Secretariat, Mr. Bushraya Hamoudi Bayoun, in addition to political officials of the Sahrawi Government, the National Secretariat of the Frente POLISARIO, as well as Sahrawi human rights defenders, activists, delegates, associations and Sahrawi civil society organizations from around the world.
The European Conference of Support and Solidarity with Saharawi People (EUCOCO) has been continuously taking place since 1975, the year of the beginning of the conflict, each year in a European city.
There have been many significant cities that have hosted this important conference for the Saharawi cause. This year, the selected city to host this important event is Berlin.
The EUCOCO is a platform for reflection, analysis and coordination of concrete actions that would contribute in advancing the Saharawi cause and the right to self-determination and independence of Saharawi people.
