Timor-Leste National Parliament’s Commission for support of Referendum of Self-determination in Western Sahara reaffirms its commitment to the Saharawi Just struggle

Dili (Timor-Leste) 20.10.2022 (SPS)- The President of the Commission for the support of the Referendum of Self-determination in Western Sahara of the National Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (CEARAS), honourabe member of Parliament Mr. Aderito Hugo da Costa reaffirmed today in an audience with Saharawi Republic Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Mr. Abba Malainin and the Commission in the National Parliament the unwavering Support and solidarity of the Commission and National Parliament of Timor-Leste towards the just struggle of the people of Western Sahara to exercise their right to Self-determination and Independence through United Nations Organized Referendum.

The Saharawi Ambassdor, Mr. Malainin updated the Parliamentarians members of the Commission for the support of the Referendum of Self-determination in Western Sahara of the National Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (CEARAS) about the recent developments of different aspects of the struggle of the people of Western Sahara and expressed his gratitude to the parliamentarians members of the commission, the National Parliament, the Government, the political Parties, the Civil Society and to the brotherly people of Timor-Leste for the consensus, constant strong support and solidarity towards the right of the people of Western Sahara to Self-determination, Independence and full sovereignty over the Saharawi Republic.

The Saharawi Ambassador has submitted today to the President of the Commission for the support of the Referendum of Self-determination in Western Sahara of the National Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (CEARAS) a formal Invitation for the 46th Session of the European Conference for Support and Solidarity with the Saharawi People (EUCOCO).
It should be noted that the above mentioned commission was officially kicked off on 5 March 2022 in Timor-Leste’s Parliament and it is composed of all the political parties in the National Parliament of Timor-Leste.
