Auserd (Sahrawi Refugee Camps) , October 12, 2022 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, explained that the Sahrawi people found themselves forced to defend their legitimate rights to self-determination and independence.
President Brahim Ghali said, in his speech during the celebrations commemorating the 47th anniversary of national unity, "Since the Moroccan forces blew up the ceasefire agreement between the two armies, the Sahrawi and the Moroccan, on November 13, 2020, the Sahrawi people have found themselves forced to resume the armed struggle, as a right guaranteed by the United Nations to colonial peoples to defend their legitimate rights to self-determination and independence”.
The President of the Republic stressed that this violation is a clear evidence of a continuous path of intransigence and escalation in a fierce attack, to which the Moroccan occupation state recruited suspicious alliances and subversive agendas that threaten peace and stability in the entire region, and used all means of destruction and devastation, from drugs and support to organized crime and terrorist groups, to the use of advanced weapons that targeted defenseless Sahrawi, Mauritanian and Algerian civilians.
But the response of the Sahrawi people, President Brahim Ghali added, was firm and decisive, rejecting the de facto policies and insisting on extracting their usurped rights and defeating the intruding invaders, praising once again, that continuous popular uprising that the masses of our people have demonstrated, in all their locations, in a comprehensive national unity, in the spirit of patriotism, sincerity and readiness for all that the current stage requires of sacrifices.
The President of the Republic paid a special salutation to the fighters of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, those brave heroes, who advance the ranks of the fateful battle, with unrelenting and unbreakable determination, those fighters for freedom and dignity, who have no goal but to achieve the right of their people, liberate their usurped territory, and establish legitimacy, stability and just peace.
