Algiers, 07, June 2022 (SPS) – The South African embassy in Algiers donated school supplies to the “Victims of Soweto” school, located in the wilaya of Ausred, in the Saharawi refugee camps.
In statements made during the press conference offered to present the donation, Mr. Patrick Rankhumise, Chargé d'Affaires at the embassy, said that "this initiative, the second of its kind since June 2021, has a great positive impact and has been done reality thanks to the support of several partners of the embassy, who are aware of the importance of education, as well as the need for this type of aid for the Saharawi people”.
At the press conference, where representatives of the embassies of Vietnam, Tanzania and Zimbabwe were also present, together with the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi People, the First Secretary of the Saharawi embassy in Algiers, Mr. Emhamed Chej, "thanked to the South African embassy this gesture, highlighting the solidarity of the African embassies in Algiers and their constant support for the Saharawi people”.
