Madrid, 8 May 2022 (SPS) - The Parliament of the Spanish Autonomous Community of La Rioja hosted Saturday the 26th Inter-Parliamentary Conference "Peace and Freedom for the Saharawi People" in which the various representatives of the regional assemblies took part.
La Rioja brings together regional parliamentarians from all over the country with the intention of demanding "a joint declaration in favor of the self-determination of Western Sahara", according to media reports.
Representatives of the Legislative Assemblies of Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Region, Aragon, Navarre, La Rioja, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla Leon, Valencia, Madrid, Extremadura, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands are attending the 26th Inter-Parliamentary Conference "Peace and Freedom for the Sahrawi People", held for the second consecutive year in La Rioja.
The 26th conference takes place under circumstances marked by a change of the position of the Spanish government led by Pedro Sanchez on the Western Sahara.
