Abuja (Nigeria), 30, March 2022 (SPS) - The Nigerian Movement for the Liberation of Western Sahara "strongly condemned the change of position of the Spanish government on Western Sahara and its support for the Moroccan proposal, considering it an act of flagrant violation of international law.”
In a statement made public Monday, the Nigerian movement expressed "its rejection of this new turn, reminding the Spanish government of its historical and moral responsibility towards the Saharawi people, for being the former colonizing power, which has failed to fulfill its promise of a referendum of self-determination for the people of Western Sahara”.
The Nigerian NGO also denounced in its statement "the new disappointment of the Spanish rulers and called on all lovers of peace in Spain and the world to condemn this position and express their rejection of the surrender of the Spanish government in the face of Moroccan pressure and its blackmail with illegal immigration and drug trafficking”.
Finally, the Nigerian Movement for the Liberation of Western Sahara "reiterated the need to condemn the policies of the Moroccan occupation State aimed at violating international law and contradicting international legality, making proposals contrary to the resolutions of the United Nations in relation to the conflict and the decolonization of Western Sahara.
