Dakhla (Occupied Territories), 31 May 2021 (SPS) - Saharawi journalist and former political prisoner Yahadih Jalihenna Abdelaziz Essabi was presented on Sunday before the office the general prosecutor in the occupied city of Dakhla, Western Sahara, which extended the period of his police custody by 72 hours following his arrest.
The office of the public prosecutor is likely to have fabricated charges against the Sahrawi journalist related to “undermining the integrity of the internal or external security of the state,” in connection with the extension of the period of his police custody.
The Sahrawi civilian prisoner was transferred from the occupied city of El-Aaiun to the occupied city of Dakhla and placed at a police station, where some of his relatives managed to visit him only for ten minutes under heavy security guard and in the presence of Moroccan police in civil and official uniform.
