Submitted on

Shaheed Alhafed, April 15, 2019 (SPS) - The Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the POLISARIO Front has called on the United Nations Security Council to take "urgent" measures to put an end to Moroccan violations of the ceasefire, and open the occupied territories of Western Sahara to international observers.
The Permanent Bureau Met on Sunday, under the chairmanship of President  of the Republic, Secretary General of the POLISARIO Front, Brahim Ghali, and reviewed the recent report of the UN Secretary-General on Western Sahara, highlighting the gross violations committed by Morocco concerning the cease-fire agreement and the human rights situation in the Sahrawi occupied territories.
It also addressed threats to peace and stability in the region, including drug trafficking from Morocco, which supports and encourages organized crime and terrorist groups.
The Permanent Bureau appealed to the Sahrawi people to thwart all the enemy's plots, through their attachment to their national unity and their sole and legitimate representative, the POLISARIO Front, in order to achieve their aspirations for freedom and independence.
Finally, the Permanent Bureau condemned the obstacles set by Morocco against any fair and lasting solution to the conflict in Western Sahara to allow the Sahrawi people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and independence. (SPS)
