Berlin (Germany), March 4, 2019 (SPS) - The Polisario Front delegation to negotiations on Western Sahara conflict on Monday met with the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, Horst Koehler, in German capital Berlin in a closed-door consultation session in preparation for a similar meeting with Morocco.
The Sahrawi delegation is led by member of the Polisario Front's national secretariat, Khatri Addouh, chairman of the Saharawi National Council.
In addition to Addouh, the delegation includes M’hamed Khaddad, the Front Polisario's coordinator with the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), Fatma Elmehdi, former chairwoman of the Saharawi women's union, Sidi Mohamed Omar, Polisario Front's representative at the United Nations, and Mohamed Ali Zerouali, an adviser to the Polisario Front Secretariat.
The meeting focuses on launching the direct negotiation process between the parties to the conflict, the Polisario Front and Morocco, to reach a fair and lasting solution to Western Sahrawi issue, ensuring Sahrawi people's right to self-determination. (SPS)
