Gonfreville-L'Orcher (France), October 20, 2018 (SPS) - The Polisario Front announced Friday, in Gonfreville-l'Orcher, that it lodged on Thursday six complaints against French groups accused of “colonization crime” for setting up their subsidiaries in the territory of Western Sahara, occupied by Morocco.
M’hamed Kheddad, Sahrawi Coordinator with the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), made this announcement at the opening of the international colloquium under the theme “Sovereignty over natural resources and implementation of international law in Western Sahara,” organized by the Association of friendship with the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and whose works will last two days.
The complaints concern three banks (BNP Paribas, Société générale and  Crédit agricole), the group Axa Assurances, the airline company Transavia and the group UCPA.
They were lodged before the State Prosecutor at the High Court of Paris for “colonization crime” and “transfer of population in an occupied area.”
On 18 September 2018, a first complaint was lodged before the same court against the French company Chancerelle for illegal activity in the Sahrawi territory, thus in violation of the Sahrawi people’s rights. (SPS)
