Stockholm (Sweden), November 18, 2017 (SPS) - President of the Sahrawi Red Crescent, Buhubeini Yahya, accompanied by Limam Khalil, representative of the Frente POLISARIO in Sweden, has met with representatives of Swedish organizations Emmaus Stockholm and Practice Solidarity.
During the meeting, the President of the Sahrawi Red Crescent expressed the gratitude and of the Saharawi people to the non-governmental solidarity organizations in Sweden for the great and effective role played in alleviating the harsh conditions and the sufferings of the refugees in the Saharawi Refugee Camps.
The meeting was an occasion for the Saharawi official to talk about the humanitarian situation, focusing basically on the negative repercussions and the deficit registered in the coverage of basic needs and basic services for refugees, as a result of declining contributions from donor countries.
For their part, the representatives of the Swedish organizations attending the meeting expressed their concern about the lack of coverage of the basic needs of the Sahrawi refugees, and committed themselves to work to cover and alleviate the needs of these refugees. (SPS)
