AU Special Session of Foreign Ministers of Countries begins to address the AU-EU Summit

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Oct 17. 2017 (SPS) - The Special Session of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of AU Countries began Monday at the headquarters of the African Union in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. To concretize the position of the countries that will represent the continental organization, at the next EU-AU Summit.
The Special Session of the African Ministers will address the right for all AU members to participate in the EU-AU summit to be held in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan on 29 and 30 November, as well as a draft for the work of the Summit.
In addition, the meeting aims to identify priority projects for both partners in the period 2018-2022, such as youth, migration, sustainable development and issues related to peace and security.
It is to be recalled that the Special Session of the Executive Council of the AU will adopt the report prepared by the Committee of Permanent Members, meeting on October 12 and 13 and attended by Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Salek , the delegate minister for Africa, Hamdi Mayara, the ambassador in Ethiopia and the AU and members of the SADR delegation in UA.
