40th anniversary of SADR: Delegations present unanimously regarding Sahrawi people’s legitimate right to self-determination

Dakhla (Refugee Camps), 28 February 2016 (SPS) - Representatives of foreign delegations participate in the festivities commemorating the 40th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) were unanimous in reiterating the Sahrawi people’s legitimate right to self-determination.

 

In her speech, the president of the Algerian-Sahrawi fraternal parliamentary group Saida Bounab underlined that the festivities commemorating the 40th anniversary of the RASD take place in special circumstances, marked by the achievements of the Sahrawi cause in international forums which tend towards the recognition of the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.

 

In this regard, she cited the “disruption of partnership relations between the European Union and Morocco because they are based on the plundering of Western Sahara’s natural resources.”

 

The speaker welcomed all the participants to the festivities, particularly the Sahrawi Popular Liberation Army.

 

For his part, African Union (AU) representative, Mustapha Sidiki Kalolo welcomed the invitation of the AU to take part in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the proclamation of the SADR, which marked the fight of the Sahrawi people for independence and the recovering of its full sovereignty on all its territories.

 

In addition, he reiterated the AU’s support for the Sahrawi people’s fight for freedom and independence, which was that of all African countries. (SPS)
