UNESCO rejects Crans Montana Forum holding in occupied Dajla

Paris,February 09, 2016 (SPS) - The organization UNESCO has expressed its rejection to the holding of Crans Montana Forum in the occupied city of Dajla in Western Sahara recalling that the territory is under the responsibility of the UN and is a question of decolonization.

 

"We inform you that this year, our organization has not received any invitation and does not intend to participate in the organization of this event," the vice director general for International Relations and Information, Erik Folt, in a letter to the Chairman of Swiss committee of support to Saharawi people.
 

Finally, Erik Folt stressed that UNESCO will not participate in conferences or meetings held in the city of Dajla in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council. (SPS)
