Moroccan court sentences Sahrawi political prisoner Embarek Dawdi to 5 years in prison

Agadir (Morocco), December 4, 2015 (SPS) - The Moroccan in Agadir issued Thursday a “harsh and unjust” sentence against Saharawi political prisoner Embarek Dawdi of 5 years in prison, said a source of the Ministry of the Occupied Territory and Diaspora.

 

The Sahrawi political prisoner entered the court room raising the victory sign and chanting slogans calling for the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination. His trial was attended by many Sahrawi supporters including students, journalists and human rights activists as well as 3 international observers.

Saharawi political prisoner Embarek Dawdi, was arrested on September 29, 2013 in Guelmim (Morocco) for his activities in favour of the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, it should be recalled. (SPS)
