East Timor expresses concern about non-application of right to self-determination of Saharawi people

 New York, October 4, 2015 (SPS) Prime Minister in the government of East Timor Mr Rui Maria de Araujo expressed Thursday his country's concern against the deprivation of the Saharawi people of its legitimate rights, primarily the right to self-determination, during his address to the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

 

"In addition to increasing conflicts in the world, few people in the world, in particular Saharawi and Palestinian peoples are deprived of fundamental rights", he regretted.

 

Several leaders were unanimous in supporting the Saharawi people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination, during their address to the 70th session of the UN General Assembly including among others Algeria, Angola, Lesotho, Namibia , Iceland, South Africa and other countries, it should be recalled.
