Saharawi civil society delegation takes part in the 30th session of the Human Rights Council

Geneva(Switzerland) Sept 15, 2015 (SPS) - delegation representing the Sahrawi civil society took part in the works of the 30th session of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations in Geneva, reported the Association of Families of Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared.


the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Zeid Ra'ad Al-Hussein in his intervention said that “his office had recently dispatched missions to Morocco and Western Sahara and the Saharawi refugee camps, to gather more information about the situation of human rights, pointing out that the respect of the Sahrawi population rights is the essential way to reach a solution to this long-standing dispute.”



For its part, the Republic of Namibia demanded the need to respect the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, and the issue of HCHR report on its visit to the occupied territories of Western Sahara and the Saharawi refugee camps. (SPS)
