President of National Council highlights need for pressure on Morocco to stop blocking international efforts to end Western Sahara conflict

Johannesburg (South Africa), 9 July 2015 (SPS) – Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, President of the National Council, Mr. Khatri said Aduh, affirmed that the international efforts to find a solution to the Western Sahara dispute have not reached desired results due to the lack of pressure from the international community on Morocco.

 

 Inhis speech on the second day of work of the Seventh Congress of African heads of parliaments in Johannesburg, South Africa, which took place on August 6-7, he stressed the importance of the decisions taken by the African Union as a guarantor with the United Nations to organize the referendum in Western Sahara.

  

 On issues such as peace and security in Africa, the President of the National Council focused on the need to lay the foundations of the process of building a culture based on logic and rejection of aggression, violence and the causes of conflict.

 

 The head of the Saharawi legislative institution praised the African peace initiatives such as Algeria's contribution to the peace process in countries such as Libya and Mali.

 

The Saharawi delegation held, on the sidelines of the work of the Seventh Congress of Heads of African parliaments, several meetings and discussions with various delegations from countries such as Algeria, Mozambique and South Sudan. (SPS)
