Mayor of Le Mans offers dinner in honor of Saharawi children

Le Mans (France), July 12, 2015 (SPS) - The Mayor of Le Mans offered Saturday a dinner in honor of 12 Saharawi children and their two companions who arrived in Le Mans, France, to stay with families for two weeks in the framework of the "Holidays in Peace" program.

 

On this occasion, Mr. Omar Mansour, Polisario Front representative in France, thanked the city of Le Mans, its elected councilors and people for receiving the Saharawi.

 

He recalled that the Western Sahara conflict continues because of the intransigence of Morocco supported by France that does not want to take on its responsibility as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, a fact that contradict with the establishment of a just and lasting peace in the region.

 

 For his part, the president of the Association of Friendship with the SADR (AARASD), Régine Villemont, expressed hope to quickly see the implementation of the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the African Union concerning the organization of a referendum of self-determination of the Saharawi people to enjoy freedom and independence.
