Prime Minister Arrives in Johannesburg to attend 25th AU summit

 Johannesburg, June 13, 2015 (SPS) The Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, arrived today, Saturday in Johannesburg, South Africa,where he will represent the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, at the 25th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), scheduled for Sunday and Monday.

 

 The Prime Minister is accompanied by Foreign Minister Mohammed Salem Ould Salek, Secretary General of the National Union of Saharawi Women Fatima Mehdi, Minister Delegate for African Affairs, Hamdi Buiha, Permanent Representative to the AU and ambassador to Ethiopia, Lamine Baali and SADR Ambassador to South Africa Salha Laabad.

 

 The summit is expected to approve the recommendations adopted at the meetings of the Permanent Representatives Committee and the Executive Council of the AU on the question of Western Sahara, particularly those contained in the reports of the AU Peace and Security Council and the Commission on human and Peoples Rights.

 

It will also discuss the implementation of decisions of previous AU summits. (SPS)
