Submitted on

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), May 24, 2015 (SPS) The Executive Office of the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA) expressed Sunday support and solidarity with the Saharawi mother Takbar Haddi on hunger strike for two weeks in the canary islands to demand justice for her son who was killed in February by Moroccan settlers in the occupied city of El Aaiun.

In a statement, CODESA expressed concern about the state of health of the Saharawi mother, and urged the Moroccan government to address the legitimate demands of the family who call for conducting a fair and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of their son Mohamed Lamine Haidala and bringing those responsible to justice.

It held Morocco responsible of the serious consequences that could arise from deterioration of the health of Takbar Haddi on unlimited hunger strike since December 15, 2015 in front of the Moroccan Consulate in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Sahrawi mother Takbar Haddi currently enjoys wide support from activists for human rights, solidarity organizations with the Sahrawi people, personalities and parliamentarians. (SPS)
