Windhoek, May 14, 2015 (SPS) - International Secretary of the Saharawi Youth Union (UJSARIO), Hamdi Yusuf, is attending the celebrations commemorating the 70-year anniversary of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), convened in Namibia from 11 to 17 May 2015.
Attended by young people from all continents, the event will see a variety of activities and lectures about liberation movements around the world, WFDY’s role and African woman’s struggle, among many other topics.
Concerning the question of Western Sahara, participants voiced their solidarity and support to the decolonization of this territory.
They also welcomed the honorable positions of the African Union (AU) in terms of youth, calling for the need to revitalize these decisions and carry the international community to respect them.
During the event, Hamdi Yusuf met with young people from Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, Eretria, Cuba, Sri Lanka, Portugal, Spain and Argentine. (SPS)
